Collins was started in April of 1992 and has grown over the years to include not just IT recruiting but also telecommunications and for some of our clients things that they ask us to do, administrative and clerical work etc. Our clients include many fortune 100 companies as well as the federal government.
The owner of the company Bob Collins is a service, disabled veteran and as a result we service the disabled veteran business enterprise, certified. In addition we are a small disadvantaged business and so for those companies who are looking for suppliers with diversity we offer those too. The service disabled veterans in the STB.
I work only on the commercial side. My clients would be widely known to many people. They are very demanding because they have several vendors who are providing resources to them so our goal is to be fast, provide a quality resume and to do that at a good price.
DISA which is the Defense Information Services Administration has a mentor protégée program and one of our clients IBM nominated Collins to participate in that program. They are our mentor. We are the protégée. We sat down with them about a year and one half ago to talk about things that Collins needs to work on to improve etc to make us more marketable to the federal government which of course will help us with the commercial clients as well.
One of the areas that we were giving some consulting help on was our recruiting procedures. Although, our procedures were found to be very sound, the configuration management part of that or the recruiting management system we were using left quite a bit to be desired.
It was very clear to me from the first time I saw JobDiva that who ever put this product together new staffing and new the things that were important to the clients, the things that would be important to the recruiters and to the relationship managers to get those resumes out the door in a timely manner and in a quality way.
We are using some of the VMS. We think that will greatly, greatly help us in terms of getting the jobs into the system quicker so that we can work them faster. Bob, who is actually my husband as well, has been downloading resumes. Everyday I get a count of how many resumes were down loaded that will only make us stronger. It is very exciting to us to start that. We look forward to using it. We know we are going to have a couple of weeks where data is going to be between our old system and our new system. We are doing our best to move that as we see the need to but in the end we feel it will be worth it.
I will ask you not to consider buying JobDiva because we want to have that competitive advantage to ourselves. Happy recruiting, the old way.
