Bob Collins, CEO of Collins Consulting, Inc. (4:25) www.colcon.com
Hi, I’m Bob Collins; I’m the Founder and President of Collins Consulting in Schaumburg, Illinois. We are an IT staffing firm started in 1992. We work with such clients as IBM, Motorola, AT&T, Advent, local banks, NCR, Medtronic, etc. companies such as that on a nationwide basis. We provide temporary staffing labor.
I actually got started in this field in 1975 when we would locate candidates for possible opportunities and simply either mail the resumes to the companies or we would hand deliver them. We would get into our cars and drive over there. Nowadays of course we have email. It has changed quite a bit.
The reason we are looking at JobDiva is that the entire industry has certainly changed since 1975 and the need to identify candidates fast, qualify them fast and respond to your client needs fast has simply escalated over the last several years. We had been using and older server based solution for years, seven or eight years. This solution while excellent at its point and time of development, still required us to go out to the internet, look for qualified candidates off of the various job boards, bring them into our system, match them to our jobs, manually enter our jobs into this database and then match them up, review them and then ultimately, hopefully we send them on to the client.
What we found over time was that it was more and more difficult for us to compete against companies and get resumes to our clients in a timely manner, jobs would close. We would be the 30th or 40th candidates submitted to a job rather than first, second, or third. We found that what JobDiva offered was the seamless integration of client VMS sites, our internal database and the internet based job boards. It allowed us to fully integrate all of those functions into one central repository. It took the job of the recruiter from being a sorcerer to simply that of being a recruiter. Where they would be spending 80% of their time doing the clerical functions associated with recruiting, they now reduced it down to getting on the phone talking to the candidates and getting your candidates submitted to the client. It took what would normally take two or three days and reduced it into three, four, five hours worth of work.
One of the issues you always deal with when you’re converting systems is the ease of conversion. No conversion is going to be perfect, so how does the company assisting you respond to those conversion issues? Finally, once you’re converted how easy is it to use the tool and how is the training? How available are the people and how good is it? The biggest concern that I had when we started converting was getting off of our old tool and on to the new tool.
We found the technical support staff from JobDiva to be responsive and excellent from the time that we started until the time we are at right now is less than two weeks. We went from starting the installation to where doing training today in less than two weeks. It has now taken the time that our sales and contract admin take to put in a job from three or four hours to five minutes. We start seeing the jobs faster. The support from JobDiva has been excellent. The training has been excellent. It has been mentioned to me, as an owner of the business, how about making a few changes to do this and this? Well the comment is this is a recruiter tool and it focused on assisting the recruiters and it does a very good job of that. It is far superior to anything else we have seen in the market place.
